Generate a System User token in Meta Ads

Follow these steps to create a System User access token and connect your Meta Ads account.

1Open Business Settings

Go to your Business Manager settings in Meta Business Suite.

2Create a System User

In the left menu, select Users > System Users. Click Add, set a clear name (e.g., Agency_Integration), and assign the Administrator role.

3Assign assets

Select the created user and click Add Assets. Assign the App ID and the ad accounts, pages, or pixels you need.

4Generate the token

In the System User section, click Generate New Token. Choose your Meta app, select permissions, and copy the token immediately (you will not see it again).

Suggested permissions

  • ads_management
  • business_management
  • pages_read_engagement
  • If you grant additional permissions, the agent can operate with that scope.

Important

  • The token can be set to never expire if available on your account.
  • Do not reuse the same token across multiple apps; each app needs its own System User and token.
  • If you change permissions, you must regenerate the token.

Important: granting this token allows AI-driven actions within the permissions you approve. The AI can execute operations with those permissions, which may include changes or deletions. You are responsible for reviewing permissions, using least privilege, and validating outcomes before using it in production.

5Copy and save it

Copy the generated token and store it safely (you will not be able to see it again).

This token lets you interact with the Supabase Management API.
